St. Mary’s Annual Invitational Golf Tournament is held each year in May on the Saturday of the weekend prior to the Memorial Day Weekend at the beautiful Lady Bird Johnson Golf Course (www.golffredericksburg.com; considered one of the best courses in the area. The primary purpose of the tournament is to establish a dependable and consistent fundraising event for the school. 100% of the tournament proceeds go directly to the school. It is one of the largest and best received tournament in Fredericksburg. It features four person teams, a shot gun start, a nice hospitality bag, and generous prizes. Because of its popularity, the tournament fills quickly; although one wonders whether it is the golf or the mouth-watering Bar-B-Que served at the end that is the real draw. Make plans to play!
