EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES Students have the opportunity to develop talents and skills outside of the classroom. These activities foster personal development, leadership, and character growth. Programs provided by the school include: Junior High Band and Fifth Grade Band Junior High Choir and Fifth Grade Choir Junior High Student Council with membership in Texas Association of Student Councils (TASC) Academic Competition for Grades 1 to 8 with membership in the Private School Interscholastic Association (PSIA) St. Marys is a charter-member school. Seventh Grade participation in the Duke University Talent Identification Program(TIP) Fifth Grade participation in the Texas Tech University week-long Outdoor Learning Camp in Junction Junior High Cheerleading and Pep Squad School-sponsored dances for Junior High Students (four per year) Summer Camps the school provides week-long theme camps throughout the summer for students. Common themes are: Science, Nature, Cooking, Bible, and Art
ATHLETICS Athletic competition in school focuses on personal growth, sportsmanship and team work. The athletic program develops physical fitness, leadership, and school spirit. The school teams are affiliated with the Archdiocesan Interscholastic Athletic League (AIAL) and include: The sports teams are under the general direction of the Athletic Director, and all coaches are trained and screened for working with students. |
