ADMISSIONS – St. Mary’s Catholic School accepts students from any religion, race, creed or national origin. Enrollment priority is given to siblings of currently enrolled students and to registered families of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. The Texas Catholic Conference Education Department (TCCED) requires that a child must meet the following age requirements for admission: 3K (Pre-Kindergarten) – 3 years of age on or before September 1st 4K (Pre-Kindergarten) – 4 years of age on or before September 1st 5K (Kindergarten) – 5 years of age on or before September 1st 1st Grade – 6 years of age on or before September 1st
REGISTRATION – Registration for new students is in March, after re-enrollment of returning students is determined. A registration fee is collected at that time to secure a spot in the class, and to cover: book use, standardized testing, insurance, and registration costs. The amount of this fee is listed on the tuition schedule, and this fee is not refundable. TUITION – The school has a flexible tuition payment plan. For the tuition schedule and the schedule details payment options, family discounts, and parish and non-parish rates, click HERE. Families have the option to select the best payment plan for their family, and then will have the obligation to make regular payments on that plan. All financial obligations must remain current for students to take exams, receive report cards, or to participate in extra-curricular activities. Each year the school council sets the tuition rate for the school; the rate is determined by the enrollment and the projected educational costs of the school. Fortunately the tuition is only one component of the school funding. The school is subsidized by the parish and by the school endowment fund. The school also has an active development office and Parent Teacher Club that secure necessary funds for school operation. FINANCIAL AID – Financial aid is a budgeted part of the school program. The school provides tuition assistance based upon financial need and parish/school involvement. The parish provides most of this funding, but the school also receives tuition assistance funding from the Archbishop’s Annual Appeal. Application forms for this assistance are available in the school office. PARISH AFFILIATION – St. Mary’s Church has supported and encouraged Catholic School Education since 1856! St. Mary’s is one of the oldest Catholic schools in Texas. The parish provides an annual subsidy for school operation. |
