St. Mary’s School Endowment was established in 1986 to benefit and to carry out the purposes of St. Mary’s Catholic School. The fund grew slowly at first with the initial deposit being $2,500.00. That was followed quickly by many memorials, gifts, and bequests. The fund is conservatively invested and provides support to the school from income realized from its investment. The endowment has grown to its present level of $2,300,000.00. One factor that has insured its growth is also one of the kindest, most thoughtful, and lasting traditions in Fredericksburg. It is the act of creating a memorial to the members of our parish who have gone to their final reward through a donation to the St. Mary’s School Endowment. They remind us that we do best by doing good. These memorials should be and are a lasting tribute to the memory of our friends and loved ones.
